Hi Andy and Kiwi Marg,

Thank you for your response and I am pleased with the input from both of you on these points.

Andy I do agree with you in what you say in your 5 points from  A to E regarding the Germans and they do have these distinct advantages over us.  Plus Germany has a bigger population to chose from -80 million in Germany compared to our 50 million in England.

Yes you are right the PREMIERSHIP has ruined English football especially with all the foreign players. English players get less opportunity.  Sky Television has a lot to answer for and is the main reason for such highly paid players. Incidentally it was an Australian business man , Murdoch I think, at the bottom on all this.

But I do agree with a lot of what you said and Brazil must be the hot favourites again. Yes Rooney will be forgiven when the new domestic season starts and it was true he was injured , tired and just not fit.  That applied to a lot of our players too. The trouble is we idolise one or just a few players too much and put them on pedestal. If they fail to deliver then we are in trouble.

Capellor is a good manager with a good track record at a club level. But his English is poor and communications with his players is not first class and this is not good.

The only thing I disagree with you about is goal-line technology.  In my opinion a GOAL is a GOAL .  Video technology would have proven that second goal and the psychological boast to England would have MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE to the second half of the game.  Instead of going for the winner we had an anxious up -hill battle trying to make up for the LOST goal.  This was not just and in our anxiety we left ourselves open at the back and the Germans took full advantage.

They were never 3 goals better than us not even two goals better than us.  HONEST goal line technology would have made the game much closer and the game more enjoyable and satisfying for England and English fans.

We would probably still lost on penalties but we expected that anyway.

If I had scored and perfectly good goal like and it had not been given I would have felt pretty sick and I bet you would have too.

I agree with a lot of what you said , it is very true and that is why the Germans are better than us.  But we are still capable of beating them on our day.

HONEST goal line technology would have made a lot of difference to that end.  NOT just for England but for soccer in general.

Video technology works well in other sports , why shouldn't it do so in soccer -football?

Do you remember McEnroe (spelt that wrong?) a Sun Aquarian New York tennis player ? His out bursts at Wimbledon played a big part in bringing video technology to Tennis.

JUSTICE HAS TO BE BROUGHT TO FOOTBALL TOO-IT HAS GOT TO HAPPEN.

Kiwi I will get back to you another time  but WELL DONE New Zea land for being unbeaten.

Ernie
